On release, the RTX 4090 size was something spectacular when it came to the custom cards. And it’s no surprise with the 450W TBP of the GPU, but now Cooler Master is collaborating with PNY to give it a god, while MSI is showing off the next look of its GPU cooling.
These are expanding on how well the graphics cards can be cooled and contained. Opting for a different approach like Acers custom all-in-one liquid cooling for their GPUs. Upgrading and optimizing the method for keeping these power-hungry options in check to stop thermal throttling.
MSI next-gen coolers

The first showcase for MSI’s new cooling ideas is a bimetallic design. It aims to mix aluminum and copper fins to improve heat dissipation in the same area. Where previously in the likes of liquid cooling, you can’t mix the two metals due to oxidation, air cooling might not have the same issues. And so this 4-slot thick GPU is ready for the biggest power levels. Although shown off for the 4090, it might be ready for the RTX 4090 Ti.
The next selection for the next-gen coolers is both the DynaVC (right) and FusionChill cooler (left). These are a vapor chamber with foldable heat pipes eliminating the need for soldering and improving conductivity and heat transfer. And then a combined liquid cooler in one respectively. Adding in efficiency and copper fins to improve the cooling capabilities of the GPUs but at quite the size.
PNY x Cooler Master 4090
Another large GPU, the Cooler Master x PNY collaboration produced the RTX 4090 Verto ARGB Dual fan. Coming in at 4.5-slot thick, it expands quite far down the motherboard and past its IO shield. It comes in a thickness of 89mm, which makes it the biggest card on the market. Although it limits the length to just 305mm. This concept features two 12cm fans.
