The launch of Season One of Diablo IV, the Season of the Malignant. is finally here. That means brand new content to enjoy, but it also means new bugs to encounter. Many players are reporting that they cannot access the Season One content, as their characters glitch and get stuck at the entrance.

The season’s progression requires players to enter a certain area, but many videos and posts are showing that they cannot get into the zone. This comes on top of long queue times to get in, and an unpopular update and patch notes.

Diablo IV’s first season has already run into controversy and faced boycott threats, but being unable to play at all means that opinions on the new season will only go down further. We go into more detail about the glitch causing players to get stuck below.

Players are stuck at the entrance to Season 1 in Diablo 4

An area of Sanctuary is unable to be accessed by many players, where new seasonal content takes place. Reddit user u/Inferno_tr5 posted a video of their player and friends becoming stuck just outside of Ked Bardu in the Dry Steppes region, and the only way to get through is to jump on your mount at the right time.

Multiple players have been reporting this issue, including user u/Forti22 who posted their attempts to enter at multiple points around the area, and u/AstraArdens, who posted footage of the same bug and titled it “Did they even test this?”.

This bug comes as another blow to Diablo IV after the most recent patch made waves in the community, saying the game is nearly unplayable after the update due to the nerfs done. Many players warned they were going to boycott the new season, and having the season riddled with glitches and bugs doesn’t make for a good first impression.

Players hope the glitch will be fixed soon, but for now, they have to rely on the rather unreliable trick to break into the area.
