The Fortnite v25.20 update is ready for release. If everything goes according to plan, Epic Games will release the update on Wednesday, July 26. This will be the second major update of Chapter 4 – Season 3, which is why we’ll get a lot of new content with it.

Considering that Epic was on summer break in early July, it’s no surprise that there hasn’t been much content. However, that should change very soon, since the upcoming update should be massive.

While there is no confirmation on what is coming, we have our prediction on what should come with the next patch notes.

Next Fortnite update should bring major changes to the game – our prediction

Every major Fortnite update brings new cosmetic items, and we expect the next one to follow suit. Most of these cosmetics should be released in late July or early August. While most of the new cosmetics should be released to the Item Shop, some of them may be used for special promotions and bundles.

Fortnite leakers leaked four new Reality Augments earlier this season, but Epic Games hasn’t released what was claimed. While it’s important to take leaks with a grain of salt, we expect at least one of these perks to come with the v25.20 update on Wednesday. These Reality Augments are unique and here is what each of them is supposed to do:

  • PG Accuracy – Reducing weapon recoil by 33% while increasing its spread
  • Scoped – Lowers weapon fire rate by 15% while increasing its damage by the same amount
  • Cybertron Recharge – Shortens the time it takes for the Cybertron Cannon to recharge a shot
  • Pistol

The Kinetic Boomerang was a new weapon added in Chapter 4 – Season 3. Unfortunately, the weapon was vaulted shortly after the season came out and hasn’t been available for a few weeks. However, there is a good chance that Epic Games will unvault it soon, likely with the next patch.

Besides the boomerang, Epic Games may also release the pistol that was seen on the cover of the current season. Every other weapon seen in Epic’s promotional material, including the Explosive Repeater Rifle, has come out except the pistol. It looks like a new variant of the Flint-Knock Pistol, although no one knows how it will work.

Considering that the v25.20 Fortnite update will be the last update of July 2023, it will bring the Fortnite Crew August pack. Epic will likely reveal the pack a few days before it comes out, but there’s a chance that leakers get to the reveal first.

Many new Fortnite collaborations have been leaked lately as well, including Overwatch, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft. Epic Games will likely save these for the end of the year, but the good news is that the Fortnite x Futurama collaboration will come with the Wednesday update.

Fortnite bug fixes should arrive as well

Epic Games keeps track of Fortnite bugs on its Trello board. Thanks to this, we know which bugs will be fixed in the future—just not when. Here are all the bugs that Epic marked as fixed in a future game update:

  • Multiple outfits appear glossy or shiny
  • Sound effects missing from the Maxx Axe pickaxe
  • Meow Skulls is missing her tail
  • Players may not be given full weapon damage credit for some Ranked quests
  • Players may experience lag when using specific projectile traps (Save the World)

Keep in mind that these are just early Fortnite patch notes. The upcoming Fortnite update will likely bring even more content, but we’ll have to wait for it to come out before we can see all the changes.
