Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 4 has been a huge success so far. Released on Friday, the new season of the battle royale game has seen a massive spike in concurrent players. While this is nothing unusual for a new season, the latest spike is much bigger than anything we’ve seen before.

Tens of millions of players from all around the world have played the new Fortnite season. Additionally, the popular video game set a new record in concurrent players since the release of a public player count.

Season 4 is on pace to be the most successful Fortnite season of all time, and here’s why.

Fortnite has millions of daily active players in Season 4

Despite being nearly six years old, Fortnite is still one of the most popular video games. Epic Games’ title has gotten into the history books several times, mostly by breaking records for concurrent players. Due to this, the latest spike in the player count is not shocking at all.

While many video games struggle to reach an all-time peak of a million concurrent players, Fortnite does this with nearly no effort. On Saturday, the game reached an all-time peak of 2.73 million players, which is impressive.

However, it’s important to note that this is the record since the release of a public player count. In the past, Fortnite set a couple of other records, especially during live events. The current gaming record for the most concurrent players was set during the Galactus event with 15.3 million.

The biggest reason why Fortnite is having so much success is all the new content that has arrived lately. The new map looks fantastic, and the season has brought many fun items, with the Rocket Ram being the most popular.

The previous record on a public player count was 2.1 million, set on the first day of Chapter 4 – Season 3. Considering there will likely be a live event at the end of the current season, we might see a new record in just a couple of months.
