Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 4 was released on Friday and brought a lot of new content. Besides the new Battle Pass and map changes, Epic Games also released a couple of gameplay changes. Interestingly, one of these changes affects how the storm works.

Epic has made several changes to the storm since 2017. Considering that this is one of the most important mechanics in the game, it’s no surprise that the game developer keeps adjusting it. Season 4 has brought another storm change, but it likely won’t be the last.

This article will explain everything you need to know about the latest Fortnite adjustment.

Fortnite storm will now move much faster in end game

Epic Games changed storm wait times with the release of Season 4 on Friday. Wait time is a storm cooldown period that marks how long it takes for the storm to start moving. A value of 120 seconds means that the storm won’t move for 2 minutes after closing in.

Here are the old and new storm wait times.

Storm CircleOld valueNew value
1st120 seconds180 seconds
2nd9090
3rd10590
4th9060
5th6060
6th6040
7th4025
8th250 (instant)

The first circle will now start closing a minute later than before. However, every other circle either has the same value as before or its wait time was reduced. This means that the end game will be much faster now, forcing players to adjust to the new changes.

The eighth circle of the Fortnite storm will start closing in immediately. In the previous seasons, the storm had a 25-second delay before closing in. However, that is no longer the case, which is arguably the biggest storm change in the latest update.

The storm plays a major role in Fortnite, but fortunately, you can use new radio towers to reveal future circles. This can help you get more victories and upgrade your Survivor Medal.
