The LG G4 was one of the highlights of this year’s CES, so now we’re looking forward to the new LG G4 OLED TV release date! The good news is that it isn’t too far away, with LG officially revealing their new OLED TV line-up just ahead of CES 2024. They’ll certainly be there to talk more about the G4, as well as the upcoming LG C4. We’ll also be discussing the LG G4 OLED TV price within this page. It’s no surprise to see that the current LG G3 is one of the best TVs on the market, especially if you’re interested in OLED at all (or gaming for that matter). The LG G4 will only be an improvement. Last year’s model saw the introduction of MLA (Micro Lens Array) tech for improved brightness levels to rival traditionally backlit alternatives, making the G4 vs G3 more of a smaller step up. LG G4 OLED TV release date history

Step one of figuring out the release date of the LG G4 is to take a look back at how the previous generations turned out. We’re lucky to have a few examples, with LG releasing a new G-series OLED TV every single year since 2021 so far.

• LG G1 OLED TV release date: April 2021
• LG G2 OLED TV release date: April 2022
• LG G3 OLED TV release date: March 2023

Just like their other LG OLED evo TVs, the G1, G2, and G3 have been featured at CES. Even though they’ve jumped in line a little early and put out some details a week prior to the event, we’ll see how well it performs over in Las Vegas during our coverage.

LG G4 OLED TV release date

As we can see from the release date history above, we had some solid evidence to back up any predictions. Luckily though, there is no need for guessing games as LG have now put out an official release date. Pre-ordering from their site reveals that expected delivery will start as early as March 18th (subject to change). Early Amazon listings did say that the LG G4 will be released on March 11th, 2024. This was conjunction other OLED TVs this year such as the LG C4 – but as we pass that date, it looks like stock isn’t available, so the 18th it is.

We don’t expect the G4 to be in as high demand as the more budget-friendly models, but this high-end beast will likely be a showstopper nevertheless. Some of its exclusive specs and features is what sets it apart from the rest of the competition, now that the MLA support is here for the 83″ model too.

Price is an important factor of buying a TV, that can’t be ignored. It’s no secret that the LG G4 will be an expensive piece of kit, sitting as the premium 4K OLED pick in the range. Upgrades such as the new Alpha 11 AI chip don’t go unmissed. You’ll even get a stand this time (last year’s G3 only offered wall-mounting unless you forked out for a pricey optional stand).

Based on product pages from the official LG store, we can now see the official pricing. The G3 price did drop a few months after it’s initial release, so you may have to wait some time if you want some cash slashed off. Here’s how prices look for the LG G4 OLED TV:

• LG G4 77″ price: $4,599.99
• LG G4 65″ price: $3,399.99
• LG G4 55″ price: $2,600.00

As expected, it doesn’t come cheap – with a couple models around $100 more expensive than last-gen. That being said, prices seem to vary wildly on different retailers, with Amazon listing the 77-inch model for just $3,533.56 during the pre-order period, though that was quickly removed. More good news is that you’ll likely see the last generation of these OLED TVs drop down in price if you want a discount.

Should I get the LG G4 or LG C4?

Picking between the C-series and G-series is something to decide on every year. The C4 will be much cheaper while still delivering excellent visuals and gaming performance. Both of these models will even reach up to 144Hz, which is up from 120Hz on the 3rd generation.

The G4 however will always have the benefit of MLA for added brightness, as the C-series still lacks this key feature.
