Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is getting a season 6 release. There is a lot of speculation on what is coming and when, but we’ve got the most up to date information. At launch, there are four new maps, a new battle pass, and a Halloween event for everyone to enjoy.

Let’s take a closer look at everything you need to know about Call of Duty MW2 Season 6, including its release date, start time, confirmed content, and even some speculated content.

Release Date for MW2 Season 6

The highly-awaited Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 update is coming on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, as stated on the Call of Duty blog. Keep in mind that this isn’t a midnight release, so the times will differ, but the date is set.

Start Time for MW2 Season 6

The exact start time has been officially confirmed by Raven Software in a tweet. MW2 season 6 will begin at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST on all available platforms so we think this update will be the same. This follows the pattern we saw with previous seasons in MW2.

Remember that you need to make sure to preload and update your game. If you haven’t, then this will affect how soon you can start because you need to wait for the game to update.

This is also affected by your download speed. Slower internet connections will take longer to download all of the necessary updates and patches that will come with a new season.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 release time countdown

Below is a countdown timer for Season 6 based on the revealed time listed above. When this timer ends, you should be able to download or start the game.

MW2 Season 6 Confirmed Content

Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 promises an array of exciting content to keep players engaged and entertained. Here’s a glimpse of what has been officially confirmed:

Battle Pass and Theme

The season will introduce a brand-new battle pass, consisting of 100 tiers of content. This time around, the theme revolves around the Haunted Halloween event, setting the stage for a spine-chilling experience. Fans can look forward to the notorious antihero, Spawn, who will operate as the season’s paid battle pass operator. Additionally, the pass will include new weaponry, including an assault rifle, submachine gun, and a melee weapon, all available in the free tiers.

The Haunting Event

The seasonal event, The Haunting, will return, bringing with it new game modes, spooky map updates, and jump scares. This is the final event for multiplayer, battle royale, and DMZ modes, before MW3 comes out. Furthermore, the in-game store will feature a plethora of Halloween-themed bundles, including exciting crossovers with Diablo, a Doom-themed chainsaw bundle, Ash Williams from Evil Dead, and much more. The Haunting event is set to start on October 17.

Warzone

Warzone will also get a Halloween-themed event as well. Al Mazrah will undergo a nighttime map transformation in the mid-season, adding a new layer of excitement. Additionally, the map Vondel will feature a zombies-themed mode, and Warzone 1’s Zombies Royale mode is returning.

Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer

The multiplayer experience in Season 6 will be enhanced with the addition of four new maps at launch. Two of these maps will cater to standard 6v6 modes, while the other two will serve as 2v2 Gunfight maps. As the season progresses, players can anticipate spooky map reskins for Asilo and Embassy. Moreover, holiday-themed variants will be introduced for classic game modes such as Domination, Kill Confirmed, Grind, Drop Zone, and Infected. There’s also a new max level for players to reach.

MW2 Season 6 Speculated Content

While many exciting features have been confirmed for Modern Warfare 2 Season 6, some aspects remain unconfirmed.

One area of speculation surrounds the introduction of new weaponry. Three new weapons might be unveiled at launch, including the TR-76 Geist assault rifle, ISO 9mm submachine gun, and Dual Kamas melee weapons. Additionally, a fourth weapon, the DOOM Chainsaw, may be added with the mid-season patch, offering players even more ways to customize their loadouts.

In terms of operators, Season 6 might introduce six new characters, each with their own unique flair. Some can be unlocked by purchasing the Battle Pass, while others, like Skeletor, may require the purchase of bundles. These operators are speculated to be V4L3RIA, Al Simmons, Spawn, Skeletor, Ash Williams, Alucard, Lilith, and Inarius, each bringing their own distinct personality to the battlefield.

As the countdown to Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 continues, the gaming world is ablaze with excitement. With confirmed content that promises to thrill and speculated surprises that may yet be unveiled, players can hardly wait to embark on their next Call of Duty adventure. Mark your calendars for September 27, 2023, and prepare to be immersed in the world of MW2 Season 6 like never before.
