If you want to save Mayrina, you will need to press onward. Make sure you have a means of healing yourself before you do in case things go downhill. This guide will show you how to get through Noxious Fumes in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Clear the Noxious Fumes in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you want to disable the Noxious Fumes in Baldur’s Gate 3, you have a few options that you can choose from:

  • Use a fire spell or cantrip that can ignite the fumes
  • Use the throw option or Mage Hand to cover the ruptured stone with a junk item
  • Disable the trap using a Trap Disarming Kit

The Noxious Fumes is a trap in the tunnels running under the Riverside Teahouse. The easiest method of clearing them is to simply cover the top of the cents with a low-value object like a crate or barrel.

You will want to always have junk items like this on your character for instances like this. With a good perception check, you can spot the vents producing the fumes. Afterward, use the throw option to move an item over to cover the vent. This will cause the gas to disperse after a short while. There isn’t a need for a heavy object to cover the vents. For instance, we used rags.

At this point, you can use the Whispering Masks on the table if you don’t feel like using junk. By now, the masks will have served their purpose. Plus, you won’t need them for the hag boss fight so it is best to get rid of them anyway.

If you want the item back, you can have a party member disable the trap using a tool kit. Finally, a fire spell can be used to ignite the flames. Whether your character is a Druid, Ranger, Warlock, Wizard, or even a sorcerer, they should have a fire spell. Using this is not recommended as it will create a burning area, can damage allies, and the fumes will come back shortly anyway.
