Blizzard’s Diablo IV welcomes you to the hell of Sanctuary, where you’ll face bloodthirsty monsters and demons as you track down the hateful Lilith in the main quest.
There are plenty of other quests to complete in Diablo IV, from the Secret of the Spring quest to the Wrack and Ruin quest.
One of these quests is Reject the Mother, which can be pretty difficult if you don’t know what to do, but that’s what we’re here for. If you need help completing Reject the Mother, look no further.
How to complete ‘Reject the Mother’ quest in Diablo 4
Step 1: Starting the quest
You can pick up this quest from a note found in the Tusmaa Rift area of the Dry Steppes region. We’ve circled the exact area you need above, and you can easily get there from the Ked Bardu waypoint. Take note that you do need to complete Whittling Sanity main quest before you can pick up this one
Once you pick up the note, it will read “Shout your rejection, ‘no Mother of mine’ at her towering statue in rift’s hidden shrine.”
Step 2: Travel to Lilith’s Shrine
The Rift’s hidden shrine is in the same location that you fought Genbar the Shrine-Keeper during Whittling Sanity, so travel back there and find the towering statue of Lilith the note mentions. It will be located at the very back of the shrine.
Step 3: Select ‘No’ and reject the mother
Once you’ve found it, all you need to do now is use the ‘No’ emote towards the statue of Lilith. The ‘No’ emote is not default to the emote wheel, so open Customize screen to add it. You can emote by pressing:
- Up on the d-pad for consoles
- E key on the keyboard
Once you’ve successfully shouted your rejection at Lilith’s statue, the quest will be completed and a treasure chest will pop up for some loot and rewards you earned from completing the side quest.
What are the rewards in the ‘Reject the Mother’ quest in Diablo 4?
If you do complete the ‘Reject the Mother’ quest in Diablo 4, as standard in most quests you will receive:
- A generous amount of gold
- Experience (scaled to level and difficulty)
- 20 Renown
Alongside these rewards, you also get a Heretic’s Cache chest so there’s plenty within this quest to get your hands on. It may not be the flashiest of quests – but it’s one of the easiest to get great loot from.
