Noelle is a 4-star Geo Claymore character who specialises as a Main DPS, and is available on the Character Event Wish, Epitome Invocation and Wanderlust Invocation Standard Banners. She’s also guaranteed on the Beginner’s Wish Banner. Keep reading to find out what materials are needed to Ascend Noelle, her best builds and an overview of how to use her effectively.

Noelle Ascension Stat

All characters in Genshin Impact have a particular stat that levels up alongside their base stats. For Noelle, this extra stat is DEF%. This helps her to increase her shield strength, healing, and even her DMG.

Noelle Talent Materials

In order to make Noelle stronger, you’ll need to upgrade her talents. The materials you will need are as follows:

  • Damaged Mask
  • Stained Mask
  • Ominous Mask
  • Teachings of Resistance
  • Guide to Resistance
  • Philosophies of Resistance
  • Dvalin’s Claw

The Teachings, Guide and Philosophies of Resistance can be obtained by completing the Domain of Mastery: Frozen Abyss every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Meanwhile, Dvalin’s Claw is potential drop from the Weekly Stormterror Challenge.

Noelle Best Weapons

Since Noelle has such a niche build, she doesn’t have that many weapons she can make use of. That being said, here are some suggestions:

WeaponRarity
Redhorn Stonethresher5-star
The Unforged5-star
Wolf’s Gravestone5-star
Serpent Spine4-star
Whiteblind4-star
Genshin Impact Noelle Weapon

Noelle’s best in slot is Redhorn Stonethresher; it has a huge CRIT DMG stat (88.2% at level 90,) increases her DEF by 28%, and increases her Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 40% of her DEF. This weapon will give her the most DMG, shield strength and heals, making her a very self-sufficient DPS. She can also make good use of The Unforged, since she will be shielded the majority of the time, therefore she can get the most out of the ATK% increasing passive. It also increases her Shield Strength, which is a nice bonus. Wolf’s Gravestone can also be good on her if you have it, although it isn’t as good as the previously mentioned 5-stars since ATK isn’t the most beneficial stat on her – DEF is. (Whilst The Unforged also has an ATK% substat, it at least will increase her Shield Strength, which helps her be a little more self-sufficient.)

In terms of her 4-star weapons, you have a couple of decent options. Serpent Spine will give her a respectable amount of CRIT Rate, whilst also increasing the DMG she deals. Whiteblind is also very good, especially for C6 Noelle since it has a high DEF% substat. It also increases her ATK and DEF upon Normal and Charged hits, which stacks up to 4 times. It’s also a craftable weapon, and so F2P players can easily get ahold of it.

Noelle Best Artifacts

Noelle has a couple different Artifact sets she can potentially make use of. Her best set is 4-Piece Husk of Opulent Dreams; the 2-Piece set will give her +30 DEF%, which is very nice on her, and the 4-Piece set will essentially increase her DEF and Geo DMG Bonus, stacking up to 4 times each. You could also use 4-Piece Retracing Bolide, which will increase her Shield Strength by 35% and give her an additional 40% Normal and Charged Attack DMG while protected by a shield. 4-Piece Gladiator’s Finale is another option and is a little more consistent that 4-Piece Retracing Bolide.

For low-level players, 2-Piece Berserker, 2-Piece Martial Artist and 2-Piece Defender’s Will are all good to mix and match until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.

Genshin Impact Noelle Artifacts

For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:

ArtifactMain Stat
SandsATK% / DEF%
GobletGeo DMG Bonus
CircletCRIT DMG / Rate

With her Sands, if Noelle isn’t C6 then you should give her either an ATK% or DEF% Sands. But if she is C6, give her a DEF% Sands. In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on ATK%, Energy Recharge, and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.

How to use Noelle

Her Elemental Skill, Breastplate, summons protective stone armour, dealing Geo DMG to surrounding enemies and creating a shield. The shield’s DMG Absorption scales based on Noelle’s DEF. The Shield has the following properties: when Noelle’s Normal and Charged Attacks hit a target, they have a certain chance to regenerate HP for all characters; healing amount depends on Noelle’s DEF; possesses 250% Absorption Efficiency against Geo DMG.

Her Elemental Burst, Sweeping Time, strikes enemies surrounding her within a large AoE, dealing Geo DMG. Afterwards, Noelle gains a larger attack AoE, converts attack DMG to Geo DMG, and gives her increased ATK that scales based on her DEF.

Noelle can work well as a Main DPS, with the majority of her DMG coming from her Burst and its subsequent Geo infusion. She appreciates having a Geo battery on her team to help charge up her Burst since her Skill doesn’t generate any Energy, and so Albedo is a great choice and will help with her Energy issues. Noelle can also work very well with Gorou as a support, since he will be able to buff her Burst’s DMG. Your final slot is flexible, but you could add Bennett for additional heals and buffs, the Raiden Shogun as an additional battery or Yun Jin for her Normal Attack buff.

Her playstyle is very simple; use her Skill to create a shield, heal your party by using Normal Attacks when said shield is active, and use her Burst to deal high DMG. When using her Burst, it’s best just to stick to using her Normal Attacks – especially if you’re using Yun Jin since her buff won’t apply to Charged Attacks. When her Burst is on cooldown, you should swap to your supports and use their Skills / Bursts, as well as use Noelle’s Normal Attacks.

Overall, while Noelle isn’t the strongest DPS around, she’s definitely fun to play and can work well when paired up with the right characters!
