Madden 24 is the latest release in the popular football simulation franchise, coming out soon. It remains one of the biggest sports video games of all time with a devoted player base. Those players range across many of the popular gaming platforms, but is Nintendo Switch among them?
The Switch has been out since 2017 and there have been eight Madden games since then. Other sports games, such as Super Mega Baseball 2 and FIFA, have been on the Switch. Will the 2024 version be playable on Nintendo’s current console?

Can I play Madden 24 on Nintendo Switch?
Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch does not carry Madden NFL 24. Despite EA having a relationship with Nintendo and having FIFA, Apex Legends, and more available on the console, Madden has curiously been left off. Even though some EA Sports games are on the Nintendo console, many do not get ported because the developers reportedly don’t love the hybrid nature of the Switch.
Despite being released in 2017, not a single Madden has been available on the Nintendo Switch. The console is often used to play exclusives like the Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon franchises, but that doesn’t stop Switch gamers from enjoying other games like Madden. EA Sports has a good relationship with Nintendo, with a lot of their games being available on the hybrid console. Unfortunately, they will have to find a different platform to play on if they’re interested in the football simulator. Neither the Deluxe Edition or the Standard Edition is on Switch.
All game modes, including Superstar modes, Franchise mode, Madden Ultimate Team, and more, are not available on the Nintendo Switch platform. A future Madden game may be on Nintendo’s platform, especially given the success of the Switch. Regardless, a future Nintendo console might since FIFA games and other EA titles are on the platform.
Fortunately, Madden 24 is widely available. Nintendo Switch users and mobile platforms gamers do not have it, but it is on multiple other platforms for those of you who would rather buy it on a separate platform. Those include the Xbox Series X, PC, PlayStation 5 and more thanks to the multi-platform roster. The gaming world will largely have access to top-flight realism with the latest entry in the football franchise, but it is one of the few games that may require certain gamers to have multiple consoles.
The game’s debut was in August, and pre-orders before that in July. Superstar showdown, FIELDSENSE, SAPIEN Technology, skill-based passing, new commissioner tools, and so much more are now available on other platforms- sadly, that doesn’t include the Switch.
