Pikmin 4 is the next game in the Pikmin franchise and it brings many mechanics from the previous games as well as introduces many new mechanics. Throughout the game, you will collect treasure with some requiring you to get a specific type of Pikmin.
As a member of the Rescue Corps, your job is to track down Captain Olimar with the help of the plantlike creatures called Pikmin and the Rescue Pup Oatchi. You will trek through caves, move boulders, and check under piles of leaves to find the captain and any and all castaways.
Like previous titles, there is a form of multiplayer in Pikmin 4. In previous Pikmin games, this came in the form of a mission mode called Bingo Battle. Is this battle mode coming to the newest title? Is Bingo Battle in Pikmin 4?
Will Pikmin 4 have Bingo Battle?
No. Pikmin 4 does not have Bingo Battle in it based on the game modes available in the demo. There has been no mention of the co-op mode by Nintendo either. If you want to face off against an opponent, you will want to take part in a Dandori Battle instead.
Bingo Battles challenged players in older games to grab items off a Bingo Card that appeared at the bottom of their screen. When playing on the Wii U, this card would appear on the gamepad. Bingo Battles could be played by two to four players with Alph, Brittany, Charlie, Olimar, and Louie being the characters.
In Bingo Battle, you would use Red Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, and Purple Pikmin, to bring items on your Bingo Card like Cherries and enemy corpses back to your Onion to complete your Bingo Card before the opposing player. You can also defeat enemy Pikmin to hurt your opponent.
In Pikmin 4, the only modes that appear in the demo are the main story mode and Dandori Battle. The goal of Dandori Battle is very similar to Bingo Battle which is to get more points than your opponent.
To collect points, you need to gather various items like treasure, plants, and enemies, and bring them to the Onion. Each item is worth a set number of points. Get more than your opponent and you win. No more needing to clear your Bingo Card before your opponent’s Bingo Card is finished.
Throughout Pikmin 4, you will use the Pikmin and Oatchi to overcome obstacles and collect resources. Occasionally, you will drop down into the depths to fight in a Dandori Battle as well.
