Wondering whether you should side with Sysdef or The Crimson Fleet in Starfield? This is a choice you have to make at the end of the Eye of the Storm quest. The choice you make will have a big impact on the rest of your journey, so you need to weigh the pros and cons of both options and then finalize your decision. If you’re confused about the better choices, we’re here to help you out.

Should I choose Sysdef or The Crimson Fleet in Starfield?

We think that siding with the Crimson Fleet in Starfield is the way to go. This is because while you will get the same credit reward no matter what choice you make, you’ll get access to The Key for choosing the Crimson Fleet. This is a place where you can find a lot of valuable stores.

Furthermore, siding with the Crimson Fleet will not make the UC Sysdef fight you whenever you encounter them. However, if you go against the Crimson Fleet, you’ll have to fight their members whenever they spot you. Therefore, siding with the Crimson Fleet will let you live a more peaceful life.

With that being said, it is time to explain the outcome of siding with both factions.

What happens if you side with UC Sysdef?

If you side with Sysdef, you will need to launch an attack on Crimson Fleet. The mission will require you to fight enemy ships filled with pirates until you reach Delgado. You can kill him to get things over with quickly or convince him to turn himself in. This will be up to you. After the mission is over, you’ll get access to the Vigilance, the approval of Constellation companions, and 250,000 Credits.

What happens if you side with the Crimson Fleet?

If you decide not to go with Sysdef and choose Crimson Fleet instead, then you will need to defend The Key from the members of UC Sysdef. While they won’t throw anything you can’t handle, their strength will depend on how much intel you’ve given them during the previous missions.

After making some progress, you will get the chance to board the Vigilance. You will then need to kill everyone on the ship, including Commander Ikande. Once done, you will get access to The Key, safe travel through the Crimson Fleet territory, and 250,000 Credits as a reward.
