Minimum required levels in World Tiers III and IV were some of the things players disliked the most about the recent patch for Diablo 4. World Tier III and IV level requirements were originally implemented in the 1.1.0a patch released on July 18, 2023.

These requirements were not mentioned in the patch notes, so many players were unaware of them until they tried to access World Tiers III and IV and were unable to do so. However, the developers have rolled back this change and fixed another issue in the most recent patch notes.

Make sure to be ready for the new season and look at all the nerfs so you’ll see why so many players are angry. Below we’ll go into detail about the changes in requirements for World Tier III and World Tier IV.

World Tier III and World Tier IV level requirements removed

Blizzard revealed in the 1.1.0b patch released on July 20, 2023, that they would be removing the level requirement for World Tiers III and IV in Diablo 4. This change was made in response to player feedback.

Players were unhappy with the fact that they could not access these higher World Tiers even if they had completed the Capstone Dungeons just because they hadn’t met a level requirement.

The previous level requirements for World Tiers III and IV in Diablo 4 were as follows:

  • World Tier 3: Level 40
  • World Tier 4: Level 60

Adam Fletch responded to a tweet that these requirements would be removed, which caused many people to head to the Blizzard Blog where the notes specified the changes.

The only other mention in these patch notes was a needed item change, “Malignant Hearts will now always grant armor that directly maps with their item power.”

The new minimum level requirement for world tiers was just one of many issues players had with the July 18 patch ahead of the Diablo 4 start of Season 1. Even in the Reddit thread announcing the removal of world tier level requirements has players angry that this was all that was changed. It feels like the consensus for the July 18 patch is mostly negative due to all of the nerfs added in.

To quote one Reddit user “Please remove the whole patch. Thanks.”
