Glorious has now announced the successors of two of their most popular gaming mice, the Glorious Model O, and the Model I, named the Model O 2 and Model I 2, respectively. Inspired.
- *UPDATE* The mouse is out! Read our full Glorious Model O 2 review for all the details!
Anyway, these mice are through and through upgrades to the originals, with a whole host of new features, the most notable of which being that the Model I is now Wireless.
This is a sorely needed upgrade as their previous Model I mouse has a very popular right-handed ergonomic shape, but the lack of a wireless option meant that the Razer Basilisk or Logitech G502 lines made more sense for those looking to cut the cord.
But what other changes have Glorious implemented to these well-received shapes? Let’s take a closer look.
Model O 2 & Model I 2: What’s new
Happily, the official Glorious Twitter page has given us a list of the common upgrades shared by both the Model O 2 and Model I 2. The list is as follows:
- Upgraded Sensor
- Upgraded Glorious Switches (80m clicks made w/ Kailh)
- Major structural upgrades
- Majorly better Battery
- New texture
- New aesthetic
- New button design
- New Optional Bluetooth
- Better RGB
Most of these improvements are kind of difficult to quantify, however, the upgraded sensor is a big deal as it’s the first implementation of the new Glorious BAMF 2.0 sensor.
We’ll leave it up to you to decipher the initialism. Our best guess is Badly Articulated Marketing Fluff, however, Glorious might have had something else in mind.
Anyway, the new BAMF 2.0 sensor is a bit of a beast, going toe-to-toe with Logitech’s HERO and Razer’s Focus Pro sensor technology.
But, We’re WePC, so we’re mostly concerned with the nitty gritty specs stuff, so let’s take a look at what these Mice are offering, and how they stack up against their predecessors. We’ll use the wireless examples variants for this, as Glorious’ aggressively accessible pricing means that going wireless isn’t nearly as painful as it usually is.
