As the newest and biggest game is heading for release, you may be wondering, can you play Starfield on Asus ROG Ally? It is going to be a massive new release from Bethesda and with a release date in September, there is still time until we learn more about what the game entails.

The full details of the performance aren’t quite there yet, but the system requirements are quite high. Along with that, Todd Howard confirmed the performance of the game is going to be limited to 30FPS on Xbox Series X and S. As such it might be the case that the game will be limited on the Ally as well. Since you will be able to play it on there no doubt except the framerate might differ.

The GPUs required to run this game are a bit higher than the AMD Ryzen APU on the Ally, but you’ll be able to try and improve frame rates with FSR and boost modes. As even yet the game hasn’t been confirmed as to if it is supported by Valve’s Steam Deck.

How to install Starfield on the Asus ROG Ally

Just like most games, Starfield is heading to Steam and Xbox Game Pass. That means you can install it like any other game on the Ally. That means just running it however you would on other Windows device.

When it comes out you can expect the installation process to be the same:

  1. Have either Steam or Xbox Game Pass installed and ready
  2. Find the game, and have it ready to install, if to preorder or preinstall
  3. Then install the game as any other title on the Ally
  4. Now you have to wait for the huge game to be ready for you to play

Now for the RDNA device, you’re going to need a good amount of storage to be ready for the game. The SSD should have enough, but upgrading it is a good option. Graphics might be a harder task for the game and the ROG XG mobile addition might be more necessary to sustain the game on the couch.

It may be more necessary to play it docked if you want to play it with a keyboard and mouse. Although since it’s coming to a console, it will have controller support and will be easy to play on the handheld, just make sure you have the rog gaming charger dock nearby for your poor battery life.
