Baldur’s Gate 3 is packed to the brim with plenty of adventuring, creatures and questing for fans to enjoy. Whether you’re a Dungeons & Dragons veteran or a newcomer to the franchise, Baldur’s Gate is an expansive world for anyone to play, filled with charm.

Because there is so much to do in the game, from current combat to gathering companions to add to your party members to something simple like highlighting objects, it can be a lot to take in. Console commands can help if you’re overwhelmed, letting you cheat your way through a few obstacles, magic items, or even just lighten the screen.

What are the console commands in Baldur’s Gate 3? How do you use them? We’re here to give you all the details you need.

Are there any cheat codes for Baldur’s Gate 3?

As of right now, there actually is no official way to use cheats and console commands in Baldur’s Gate 3. This applies to both PC and PlayStation 5 players, as nothing has been implemented in the game yet.

However, if you’re on PC, you can use the classic Cheat Engine program to be able to get cheats working in-game. This allows for both cheats and console commands to be enabled while playing.

How to use Cheat Engine in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you’re new to Cheat Engine, all you need to do to get it to work in Baldur’s Gate 3 is:

  • Download Cheat Engine
  • Open the .CT file from the forum
  • Open Baldur’s Gate 3 and start your game
  • Open the game process by clicking on the PC icon in the top left corner
  • Keep the list
  • Check boxes or set value from 0 to 1 to activate trainer options

This will allow you to use a wide variety of cheats and console commands while playing Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Console Commands

Using the Cheat Engine, there is a large variety of console commands you’re able to use in the game. These list of commands are:

  • Rest Anywhere
  • Add Gold
  • Add Experience
  • Respec Character
  • Max Ability Stats
  • Extra Max Health
  • Extra Armor
  • Add All Resistance
  • Immune to Status Effects
  • Super Jump
  • Unlimited Movement
  • Unlimited Action Points
  • Unlimited Spell Slots
  • Unlimited Warlock Spell Slots
  • Unlimited Sorcery Points
  • Increase Carry Capacity
  • Add Permanent Tags to Player: Pet Pal, Comprehend Languages, Detect Thoughts, Hermit, Urchin
  • Add Spells
  • Dark Vision
  • Toggle Fog of War
  • Object Spawner (equipment, items, scenery, walls, etc.)
  • Companion Attitude
  • Companion Approval

While previous Larian Studios games like Divinity Original Sin allowed for cheats to be entered directly in-game by pressing Ctrl and Tab, Baldur’s Gate 3 does not have this system built in. Baldur’s Gate 3 may receive cheat support in the future, which would add cheats like:

  • Ctrl+1: change paper doll armor type.
  • Ctrl+2: darken the screen.
  • Ctrl+3: lighten the screen.
  • Ctrl+4: show interactable objects.
  • Ctrl+6: change to the previous paper doll.
  • Ctrl+7: change to next paper doll.
  • Ctrl+8: shows text boxes.
  • Ctrl+9: shows sprites.
  • Ctrl+A: animate sprite.
  • Ctrl+B: shows the last FMV clip.
  • Ctrl+C: got to the next chapter.
  • Ctrl+D: debug dump.
  • Ctrl+F: turns to the character.
  • Ctrl+J: jump to space under the cursor.
  • Ctrl+L: shows coordinates under the cursor.
  • Ctrl+R: heals character under the cursor.
  • Ctrl+S: select a sprite animation.
  • Ctrl+X: shows position info.
  • Ctrl+Y: kills character under the cursor.

In order to make this happen, the Divinity Engine 4.0 support would have to be added in. There is no official news from Larian if this will ever happen.

With cheats on, it enables players to control magic, new spells, play with mods, go into god mode or peace mode, lower their cooldowns for their current selected character, and plenty more in the duration of the game. Cheats and console commands aren’t really how the game is supposed to be played, but they are incredibly fun.
