When you step into Baldur’s Gate 3, you will get to choose from various origin characters or create your own. There are plenty of class combinations to choose from with the potential for multiclassing. Will you be a fighter or would you rather heal people as a cleric? How to respec your character in Baldur’s Gate 3
To respec in Baldur’s Gate 3 you first need to find the Withers and invite him into your campsite. You can then interact with him after you had a Long Rest. To change classes in ask the Withers “Can you help me change my class?” it will cost a fee of 100 Gold. In addition, you can also change your Classes, Subclasses, Cantrips, Spells, Actions, and Abilities and redistribute ability points in the character creation screen. Your character will reset back to level 1; however, you will level up once more without losing XP.
However, you can also choose to respec your companions, if you wish. Unfortunately, you will not be able to change your appearance. You do not need to be hesitant about respecing your character. This will not change any further interactions, quests, or gameplay.
Where to find the Withers in Baldur’s Gate 3
Now that you know how to respec your character, you may want to learn where you can find the Withers. You can find the Withers in the Dank Crypt once you have entered the Overgrown Ruins. You can then make your way to the Chapel entrance on Ravaged Beach which will begin the quest Explore the Ruins.
To prepare yourself for the Dank Crypt, you need to have a few companions, lockpicks, and a trap disarming kit. By now, you should have invited Astarion, Lae’zel, and Shadowheart to your team. Inside the Dank Crypt, you must fight various bandits and hostiles. Once you make your way to the statue, perform a Perception Check and make your way further into the chapel.
Once you reach the hidden door, you will find an Ornate Sarcophagus, which will house the skeletal figure, the Withers. The undead skeleton will then ask you a question, “What is the worth of a single mortal’s life?” in which you will have a few dialogue options. After this, you can invite him to your camp and respec as much as you want.
