What is the best decision to make? Will it be to convince Rolan to Stay or Leave the Druid Grove in Baldur’s Gate 3? Baldur’s Gate 3 is a turn-based RPG filled with magic, romance, and the ability to decide your fate. Though, do be prepared to smear dung or show off a sword fighting technique when you romance! Of course, you can also invite other NPCs like Scratch and the Owlbear Cub to your humble bedroll!

During one of your travels, whether it be to the Blighted Village or windmill, you will meet Auntie Ethel, Sazza, a Devil’s invitation, and many others in an attempt to rid yourself of your pesky Tadpole. However, some of your decisions will affect your companions, like Gale, Lae’zel, Wyll, or Astarion around you, positively or negatively. Follow this guide to learn if you should convince Rolan to Stay or Leave in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Should Rolan Stay or Leave in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Rolan is a Tiefling NPC you will meet as you enter Druid Grove. He and his companions will discuss whether they should Stay or Leave The Hollow due to the impending Goblin attack. We recommend you convince Rolan to Stay at The Hollow in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Rolan initially wants to leave The Hollow as he believes it will be a better outcome for himself, Lia, and Cal. If you, as the player, choose to side with the goblins in the Goblin Camp, then you can convince Rolan to stay in the cave.

However, should you decide to side with the Druids, you must convince Rolan to stay; this should be your top priority. Ultimately, once the battle with the Goblins has ended, Rolan, Lia, and Cal will have a happy ending. To do this, you will need to use a Persuasion Check. Ensure you have chosen a companion with high Persuasion. Usually, a Bard, Cleric, like Shadowheart or Rogue, will do the trick.

During this time, you will also learn that Rolan wants to leave Druid Grove for selfish reasons. After speaking to Rolan a bit more, gamers will also learn that Rolan intends to become the apprentice to Lorroakan. So, we can theorize the reason Rolan actually wants to leave for Baldur’s Gate is this. The attack on Druid Grove is a logistical reason to persuade the others to leave.

Ultimately, once everyone, including the refugees, has sided with the Druids, Rolan, and his companions will live a happy life.
