If you’re looking for an order to tackle Elden Ring’s bosses, there’s no avoiding facing the game’s 12 necessary bosses.

But that’s no easy task.

Finding all of Elden Ring’s main bosses required to complete the narrative campaign is a grand voyage that will take you across the Lands Between, through a range of nasty sinners and damnable demigods.

Elden Ring is teeming with bosses, although most are entirely optional and do not need to be fought. These optional or possible adversaries can still be battled to gain rewards from around Elden Ring, but for those searching to complete the main story path, we can show you what you should be fighting and in what sequence.

However, because Elden Ring is an open-world game, determining the ideal boss order for the game might be difficult. Most regions may potentially be visited anytime you choose. However, Caelid and Leyndell, the Royal Capital, are high-level areas that will definitely beat you to the ground if you arrive too early.

Here are all of the Elden Ring main bosses needed to complete and defeat the narrative.

How many bosses will I face in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring was said to include more than 50 bosses before its release. However, the precise number was unclear because the game was so vast that no one had yet discovered them all.

Now that it’s out, some say Elden Ring has 83 bosses, including all of the main, mini, and field bosses.

As you go through this world, you will encounter a myriad of bosses. Some are minor field bosses that reside in dungeons or roam freely. Whilst others, such as Godrick the Grafted, are much more strong. Those are the mighty enemies hidden behind the walls of legacy dungeons.

Overall, there are 74 one-of-a-kind bosses. This implies you’ll have to battle with at least nine different sorts of bosses several times. It’s best to take notes the first time!

Remember, no matter where you travel in this dark fantasy country, a boss encounter is always just around the corner in Elden Ring.

What’s the best order to fight Elden Ring’s main bosses?

Margit

As far as we can tell, 12 necessary boss battles must be tackled in order to finish the Elden Ring narrative campaign. However, that number is a little convoluted and susceptible to alteration depending on the pathways you’ve chosen.

When it comes to taking on the main tale bosses and opponents in critical regions, we propose the following Elden Ring boss order:

  1. Margit, the Fell Omen
  2. Godrick the Grafted
  3. Red Wolf of Radagon
  4. Renalla, Queen of the Full Moon
  5. Godfrey, First Elden Lord
  6. Morgott, the Omen King
  7. Fire Giant
  8. Maliketh, The Black Blade
  9. Godfrey, First Elden Lord (once again…)
  10. Hoarah Loux, Warrior
  11. Radagon of the Golden Order
  12. Elden Beast

There is considerable debate over this that involves hair-splitting. Such as…

  • You may kill any of the demigod bosses instead of the Red Wolf of Radagon and Renalla, Queen of the Full Moon, although they are by far the simplest to defeat.
  • Also, most players will necessarily face the Magma Wyrm on their way up to the Altus Plateau because the other approach is significantly less evident.
  • You’ll also notice that Godfrey appears twice as a boss battle.
  • Plus, some of these bosses are essentially all one fight since completing one propels you into another instantly.
  • And the Red Wolf and Margit aren’t exactly objectives, but they impede your progress toward accomplishing them. Thus, you just have to go through them.

Should you still fight mini-bosses in Elden Ring?

Leonine Misbegotten

No – theoretically, you just have to battle the bosses mentioned above.

But – and that’s a big but! – you very likely won’t be able to win if you only face them.

Sticking exclusively to the main route will make it extremely difficult to win; therefore, it’s in your best interest to seek out mini-bosses, such as Agheel or Radahn, who aren’t required to defeat. That’s because they grant Runes, weapons, gear, spells, and new powers that will make the essential boss fights above much easier to win as you level up and upgrade.

When it comes to the myriad mini-bosses that dot the Lands Between, it’s preferable to prioritize those that drop helpful things. For example, Leonine Misbegotten drops the Grafted Blade Greatsword, one of the greatest Elden Ring weapons for Strength/Dexterity setups. It seems some mini-bosses shouldn’t be skipped!
