Week 1 in the NFL is all but in the books, and there were several incredible performances over the weekend. Madden 24 ratings adjustors were watching, and they’ll be giving a lot of players boosts over what they saw. Some players, unfortunately, will see their ratings go down as a result of their performance as well. Here are five prime candidates for a ratings boost after Week 1.

Whose ratings are going up in Madden 24?

5) Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson was not the highest-rated rookie quarterback in Madden before Week 1, but he’s making the case that he should be. Two total touchdowns (one on the ground) and one turnover against a pretty solid defense in his NFL debut warrants a boost. The Indianapolis Colts star looked much better than both C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young, so his 70 overall rating should go up in Madden 24’s first rating update.

4) Brandon Aiyuk

Brandon Aiyuk had an excellent debut on Sunday. Against a very stout Pittsburgh Steelers defense, the wide receiver scored two touchdowns to go along with 129 yards. His route running is sure to go up, especially after he left cornerback Patrick Peterson on the ground after a vicious in route. He’s an 86 overall now, but that should go way up for the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver.

3) Jakobi Meyers

Jakobi Meyers may be dealing with a serious head injury, but before leaving the game, he was proving to be one of the best additions of the offseason. The former New England Patriots receiver scored twice on 81 receiving yards for the Las Vegas Raiders. His 81 OVR in Madden NFL 24 suddenly looks far too low.

2) Jessie Bates III

Jessie Bates would likely win Defensive Player of the Year if the season ended today. Making life difficult for the Carolina Panthers, Bates intercepted the first two picks of Bryce Young’s career and forced a fumble. He completely dominated for the Atlanta Falcons and was the most impactful player on the field. He’s already a 91 and one of the top safeties in EA Sports’ title, but that will certainly go up.

1) Tua Tagovailoa

Tua Tagovailoa had perhaps the best game of his career on Sunday. Against the Los Angeles Chargers, who have a lot of playmakers on defense, the quarterback was electric. He tossed 466 yards and three touchdowns and was easily one of the best QBs from the entire week. His 83 is perhaps the most likely to go up.

Teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys, and others will see their team ratings improve, too. Madden 24 has been out since August on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
