Wondering about how to become a deputy in Starfield? Being a deputy has its own perks, and you should take a break from the main story to become one. The process isn’t difficult and won’t take much of your time.
How can I become a deputy in Starfield?
To become a deputy, you first have to complete the Job Gone Wrong quest. This quest will become available as soon as you arrive in Akila City. Completing the quest is necessary, as you won’t be able to grab the attention of Marshal Daniel otherwise.
Meet Emma Wilcox and complete a task
After completing the mission, Marshal Daniel will point you toward Emma Wilcox, who can be found in The Rock. The location isn’t hard to reach, and you’ll meet Emma at one of the tables upstairs. She will then ask you to complete a short task in order to become one of the members of the Freestar Collective faction.
The task can be picked from the mission board and won’t take much time. It will involve defeating a bunch of enemies to save hostages. To make sure you eliminate them smoothly, make sure to wear a decent armor set and carry some of the best weapons. This will make the fighting part easier.
Return to Emma
Once the job is complete, return to Emma. She will then take you to meet Marshal Daniel, where you will need to take an oath. Once done, you will successfully become a Ranger Deputy in Starfield and join the Freestar Rangers.
While this was all you needed to do to become a deputy, the mission won’t end there. You need to continue doing whatever Emma says until you’ve completed the Deputized mission. This is one of the many missions you’ll need to complete for the Freestar faction.
However, what some of you might not know is that upon successfully completing all of the missions for them, you’ll receive the Star Eagle ship as a reward. This is one of the best ships in the game, and you won’t regret going through all of the trouble for it.
