Terraria has come a long way over the years. When the game was first released, it was basically tarred with the brush of being Minecraft but in 2D pixel art. Of course, it has many marked similarities to Minecraft, but Terraria also has a lot to offer on its own merits, as the game’s millions of players over the past decade can tell you. One of the best features of Terraria is how easy it is to play with other people thanks to Steam friends, and another helpful feature is the console commands you can use on multiplayer servers.
Terraria console commands are a bit of a strange beast compared with many other contemporary games. For instance, you can’t just spawn in items or become invincible, but they’re very powerful when it comes to taking actions on the multiplayer server that you happen to be hosting. Bear in mind, some of these
How to Activate the Console
Unlike certain other titles, you won’t have to do anything special to activate the console. When you’re in a multiplayer server (whether you’re hosting or not) you’ll be able to type some commands by simply putting a forward-slash before the command you want to type. Other commands can only be entered into the server console for a dedicated Terraria server if you want to be able to use them. To do that, you’ll need to download and run something like Terraria Dedicated Server GUI.
Terraria In-Chat Console Commands
These are all commands that you can enter while you’re in a multiplayer server simply by typing a forward-slash ‘/’ before you type the actual command itself. Of course, most of these commands are pretty basic, but it’s still a good idea to know most of these off by heart for when you’re deep in a game and need to know who else is on your server.

Terraria Server Console Commands
If you do decide to host your own server using dedicated software, you’ll be able to get the most out of your newfound power with the commands below. Most of these aren’t going to make your player character much stronger than anyone else, but it’s also true that you can kick and ban people this way. Just make sure that you’re not abusing your power, or your Terraria server is going to get very empty. On another note, you can use most of the commands above as well as the ones we list below.
