With the RX 7600 XT now available to buy, it’s a great idea to compare RX 7600 XT vs RTX 4060 Ti – two graphics cards which are fighting for the top spot in terms of value for money among mid-range cards. From the RX 7000 and RTX 40 series respectively, they both belong to the same generation of GPUs, albeit it from rival brands (AMD vs Nvidia). It’s worth noting that the 4060 Ti comes in two forms: the 8GB and 16GB variants. To quickly touch on the difference between the 4060 Ti 8GB vs 16GB cards, it more or less comes down the amount of VRAM – with a small increase in the power draw/efficiency as well. As for the 7600 XT, we can see that it achieves a greater boost clock speed, but this is overshadowed by the lower amount of streaming processors – though it’s worth taking note that AMD and Nvidia use different tech here, so it’s not exactly a 1:1 comparison.
As for memory, the RX 7600 XT is comparable to the 16GB 4060 Ti, which in theory makes for better 1440p performance, though the low memory bus and bandwidth in all of these cards holds them back a bit in this regard. Performance will of course vary from game to game depending on how hard to run it is, so it is worth noting that the RX 7600 XT’s average does get dragged down by games such as Cities Skylines 2, which wasn’t tested for the 4060 Ti. However, on the whole, we see better performance from the RTX 4060 Ti, though there is practically no difference between the 8GB and 16GB variants. To pick out the popular benchmark test game Cyberpunk 2077, the 7600 XT averages 84 FPS against the 4060 Ti’s 90/89 FPS at 1080p; the gap is even smaller at higher resolutions. That shows that AMD vs Nvidia driver support per game can make a noteworthy difference.

First off, let’s take a look at the MSRPs of these different graphics cards. This is the manufacturer’s suggested retail price at launch for each of the cards. As always, custom AIBs can vary in price depending on cooling design, overclocking, or aesthetic design.
It’s safe to say that the RX 7600 XT will be the cheapest card you’ll come across when shopping around for these SKUs. The price jump between the 8GB and 16GB RTX 4060 Ti is hard to get excited by, but remember that pricing can fluctuate a fair amount. The extra 8GB does make for better future proofing, especially when you have to deal with a game that is poorly optimized and hogs up memory.
Deciding between these two (or three) cards comes down to what you need in a graphics card. The RX 7600 XT offers the best value for money in our eyes if you want a cheap 1080p or 1440p card which will last you a long amount of time.
However, the both the RTX 4060 Ti cards can offer better performance across the board for gaming, it just depends if the added cost is worth it or not for you. AMD are always catching up with tech and driver support as well, especially with their introduction of frame generation to RX 6000 series and RX 7000 series cards in just about any game. The Nvidia cards are still the go-to choice if ray tracing is something you’re particularly interested in.
