Update: The Overwatch 2 beta will last till May 17. However, the test could end sooner or later per Blizzard’s decision.

The Overwatch 2 beta is about to begin (or has begun depending on when you visit WePC). Throughout the beta, players will start receiving invites to test Overwatch 2’s PvP beta on a daily basis. Those who get access will get time to test features and report any balance concerns. That will take time, leading many to ask how long will Overwatch 2 beta last as they want enough playtime with the beta.

How long will the Overwatch 2 beta last? More than a week, it seems

There is not 100% certainty on how long the Overwatch 2 beta will last, although it appears to be longer than a week. In an interview with Flats, a popular Overwatch streamer, it appears that the Overwatch 2 beta will last a significant amount of time. 

Andy Belford, one of the Senior Community Managers for Blizzard Entertainment, said on Flats’ stream: “We will have an FAQ Coming next week. Just to give you a hint, it is longer than a weekend.”

So it appears that the Overwatch 2 beta lasts quite a while. All we need now is the confirmation from the FAQ. It will likely release on is confirmed on April 26, which is when the Overwatch PvP beta goes live. It will delve into detail about the length of the beta, including invite waves for the beta, stress testing, reporting bugs and balance issues, and more.

For those who do get on for this more than a week-long Overwatch 2 beta, you will get the opportunity to test lots of content. The new DPS called Sojourn, along with the plenty of reworks and role changes, featuring Doomfist and Orisa’s tank reworks. Meanwhile, the new Bastion changes and other slight mechanical tweaks from Overwatch 1 will go live on the beta servers for players to test over the week and potentially longer.
