Starfield is already a massive game, with an entire universe to explore, but Bethesda Games isn’t stopping there. The first story expansion, Starfield Shattered Space DLC, is already on its way.
There are quests to complete, dream homes to build, and endless planets to explore in the Settled Systems. Adding more to the game will let players take advantage of this massive universe and enjoy the Starfield world even more than just the base game. Shattered Space is just the first step.
When will Shattered Space be released? What’s in the expansion? We’re here to discuss all the details and release date speculation for the first story DLC for Starfield.
Starfield Shattered Space Release Window Prediction
While there is no official word from Bethesda on when Shattered Space will be released, we can glean information from previous Bethesda DLC. Look at Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, DLC normally arrives anywhere from six to nine months after the initial release launch.
If Bethesda follows this pattern, Shattered Space is likely to arrive in early 2024, about six months after Starfield’s release date in September. We predict we’ll see Shattered Space released in February 2024, barring any delay.
What’s in Shattered Space DLC for Starfield?
Since it was first announced at the Starfield Direct showcase in June by Todd Howard, we haven’t heard much more information on the Shattered Space DLC other than it being a story expansion. This could mean that there will be:
- New quests
- Lore being added, including factions
- Upgrades to weapons and gear
While we don’t know many details yet, fans can still get excited for the first story expansion for Starfield. It will add more content to the galaxy Bethesda Game Studios has created.
How to get Shattered Space for Starfield
The Shattered Space story expansion is already available for purchase, being included in both the Digital Premium Edition and Constellation Edition of the game. If you’ve purchased either of those, you already own the DLC. You can also upgrade digital editions to the Premium Edition to purchase it.
However, if you’ve purchased a physical copy of the game, you’ll have to wait to buy the DLC separately when it arrives.
The Shattered Space DLC will be available on all platforms Starfield is available on, including PC and Xbox Series X|S.
