The Witcher 3 Is Free On GOG If You Own It On Console Already

If you already own The Witcher 3 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and want to check it out on PC there’s some great news! You can also download it for free on GOG for a limited time only if you provide proof you own it elsewhere. This was announced via a recent Facebook post.

This offer will be available until June 23rd, so you’ll need to act quickly to get your copy. All you need to do is download the GOG Galaxy 2.0 client, connect the platform you own The Witcher 3 on, and you’ll be able to claim your free PC copy.

What Is GOG Galaxy?

For those unfamiliar with GOG Galaxy, it’s a gaming client for PC and MAC OS X users. It aims to make downloading and installing games more convenient and helps to keep them up to date.

GOG Galaxy comes with a built-in store and library management feature to help you browse your existing games library with ease. It allows you to import all your games from PC and consoles and add them into one master collection. This is great for those who have games on multiple storefronts and systems.

Who Can Download The Witcher 3 For Free?

This offer is open to those using eligible platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Bad news for Nintendo Switch owners though, this offer isn’t available for you unless you have the game on any of the other platforms.

The Witcher 3 was released five years ago now and is still a fan-favorite for those who love role-playing games. This game also surged in popularity recently as fans returned and newbies gave the game a shot after Netflix’s The Witcher show.

It was originally released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One but last year it finally came out on Nintendo Switch too. With this offer giving us more options to play the game, it will be interesting to see if there’s another spike in people loading up The Witcher 3.
