Need to know where to find Infernal Iron in Baldur’s Gate 3 to give the Tiefling smith? Infernal Iron is an item you will need to help fix your companion Karlach’s infernal engine in the Hellion’s Heart quest. As a result, you can expect to wander the Forgotten Realms in search of this rare metal.

The only person who knows how to do the repairs to fix the Tiefling’s heart is a Tiefling blacksmith named Dammon. As you go to the various Infernal Iron locations, ensure you know how to pick a lock, as the Thieve’s Tool will be needed to obtain the Infernal Iron pieces. This guide will detail where to find Infernal Iron in Baldur’s Gate 3

How to find Infernal Iron in Baldur’s Gate 3

You can find seven pieces of Infernal Iron scattered throughout the Forgotten Realms and hand them over to Dammon, the Infernal mechanic. You can find Infernal Iron in the following areas:

  • Blighted Village
  • Gauntlet of Shar Dungeon (two pieces)
  • Zhentarim Hideout
  • Underdark Grymforge
  • Goblin Camp
  • Reithwin Mason’s Guild

Blighted Village

From the waypoint, head over to the dilapidated house. Next, enter the Shabby Door, and turn right, where you will see Calcified Web on the ground. Remove the web and jump into the basement. You’ll then need to climb the ladder next to the chest to the second floor. Using Sleight of Hand, you can open the lock and obtain the Infernal Iron and loot.

Gauntlet of Shar Dungeon

You can find two pieces of Infernal Iron in the Gauntlet of Shar Dungeon. The first is within Balthazar’s Chamber. Go to the room left of the dungeon’s waypoint and enter a room with the Necromancer called Balthazar. There will be a locked door, which will hold three chests; you can find the Infernal Iron here. Next, look for a demon called Yurgir; once you kill or convince him to kill himself, you can obtain a piece of Infernal Iron.

Zhentarim Hideout

Within the Zhentarim Hideout, go north, where you will find a locked door. Unlock the door and find the chest holding the Infernal Iron.

Underdark Grymforge

Once in the Underdark, go to the Duergar camp and accept Stonemason Kith’s quest. The quest is fairly simple, as Kith will ask you about the architecture of the Grymforge rubble. Here, three checks must be passed, History, Investigation, and Perception. Once complete, he will reward you with Infernal Iron.

Goblin Camp

Within the Goblin Camp, go to the Shattered Sanctum. You must defeat Dror Ragzlin before obtaining a key to open the locked treasure room. If you don’t want to battle, you can also sneak past him and lock-pick the door.

Reithwin’s Mason Guild

You won’t need to pick any locks for this one; you can find it on the guild table.
