WEPC Best white gaming mouse Featured image 01

Finding the best white gaming mouse in 2024 is a tricky task, as manufacturers still seem intent on sticking with black as the color scheme. Luckily, this is slowly changing and white is becoming the second most popular color for PC gaming peripherals. This is a particularly timely breath of fresh air as the gaming population at large has begun to move away from RGB-laden setups to a more mature minimalistic aesthetic.

The team here at WePC has handled and tested a wide selection of the best gaming mice available and we are all in agreement, a highly accurate gaming mouse should be top of everyone’s list, not just the competitive players. While it is uncommon to find poor sensors these days, there is still a place for the more premium models, often coming with better internal components, switches, battery life, and weight optimization.

Today we are looking at somewhat of a niche within gaming mice to find the best white gaming mouse. A white gaming mouse is an acquired taste, I mean, it will almost certainly show dirt immediately but aesthetically they offer something different and more striking on the desk than their standard black counterparts. Let’s give each contender a brief overview and find the best of the best.

How we choose

We hand select each mouse based on a number of factors. Firstly, we are all gamers and have personally used a varied selection of different mice from many manufacturers. We combine our pre-existing knowledge with constant research, looking for new mouse innovations before getting hands-on with these mice.

What to consider when purchasing a white gaming mouse

While we are talking exclusively about a white gaming mouse in this article, it is still important to consider key factors when purchasing a new mouse. Some of these areas for your consideration could have a massive impact on your end result and gaming experience, so it is crucial you read through this section if you are new to buying a mouse. Most of the following things to consider are applicable to any gaming mouse, regardless of color. However, there are some white-specific considerations that we’ll cover too.

Sensor

As previously mentioned, you have to aim quite low these days to find a gaming mouse with a poor sensor. This wasn’t always the case, but now we see optical sensors across every gaming mouse from budget to premium. If you are in the market for the best white gaming mouse, you want to ensure the sensor is top of the line. What constitutes a top-of-the-line sensor? Well, just three things: Accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.

The sensor of the mouse dictates how sensitive it can be, with some sensors capable of more than 20,000 DPI these days, with the DPI sensitivity changing depending on which profile you’re using. Mice having multiple profiles is helpful too, especially if you favor different settings for different games. Profiles can save a lot of time here as you don’t need to go into the confusing peripheral software suite to change DPI every time you switch games.

Buttons & switches

The mouse can be as beautifully white as you need, but if it’s underperforming in terms of clicks, what’s the point? So we need to look at the buttons and switches on offer. Some of the more premium mice come with high-end switches from companies like Omron. Omron switches are popularly considered some of the best out there. The switches also determine the lifespan of the mouse, with some capable of up to around 80-million clicks. For reference, if you clicked both the left and right mouse buttons every second, a switch rated for 80-million clicks would last over two and half years.

A dedicated DPI switch button is also an ideal feature, as it allows you to switch your DPI profile on the fly. These are typically positioned behind the school wheel, even though some mice, for example, the Cooler Master MM731 have the DPI profile switcher button inexplicably positioned on the underside. This totally undermines the idea of switching DPI on the fly and is a particular bugbear of ours over here at WePC.

We also like to see a tactile and clicky scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is an oft-overlooked aspect of gaming mice, which is odd considering its utility in gaming, office work, and everything in-between. Crispy, defined clicks between the steps of the scroll wheel are ideal as these characteristics lead to more precision when switching weapons or scrolling long web pages.

Additionally, we look for programmable buttons too. As these give more customization options as you can bind whatever input you like to the buttons for a more streamlined gameplay experience. Programmable buttons can also change depending on the aforementioned profiles, making for a very high number of customization options that can enhance your gameplay enjoyment, and might even improve your performance

Grip Styles & ergonomics

Regardless if your mouse is white or otherwise, they come in different shapes and sizes to cater to a variety of grip needs. A player’s grip style comes down to your hand size and what feels most comfortable to you. You should always buy a mouse that feels right, so the shape is imperative but let’s talk further about the different grip styles.

There are three dominant grip styles, which include palm, claw, and fingertip, with a few crossbreeds in between. Everyone has their own grip style and many even adopt a cross of two of the three styles listed. It’s important to note here that only minute performance increases will come from grip style and the rest is down to personal preference.

The three main grip styles:

  • Palm Grip – A palm grip style is one where your entire hand is in contact and resting on the mouse. This kind of grip offers maximum stability and solid accuracy too.
  • Claw Grip – The claw grip is somewhat of a strange grip where your palm is in contact with the bottom of the mouse and the fingers and arched up over the buttons. This is a great grip for people playing FPS as it promotes reaction speed and accuracy.
  • Fingertip Grip -This is an almost hybrid grip consisting of both the palm and claw grips. The hand hovers in the air with your fingertips being the only thing in contact with the mouse. Since your palm doesn’t rest on the mouse, this gives you the most precise control.

Additionally, we like to see mice with an ergonomic design too, these designs are usually specific to handedness, frequently utilize a thumb-rest on the left side, and a more specifically designed contour of the arch of the mouse. Those of you will small hands should go for a white gaming mouse with an ambidextrous design, as these are typically smaller and feature a less-pronounced arch.

Connectivity

Of course, we’ll be including both wired and wireless white gaming mice here, to cover both the hardcore latency-conscious pros and the wire-avoiding minimalists. Additionally, we like to see Bluetooth connectivity too, as this is far more energy-efficient than 2.4GHz and more convenient to use with a laptop. The ideal wireless gaming mouse should feature all three but this typically comes with a large increase in weight.

Durability Of A White Gaming Mouse

This section may seem like a bit of a strange one and you could be right. White gaming mice are built from the same materials so, in theory, offer the same levels of durability. The question mark around durability comes from an aesthetic side, where the color white could pose certain issues regarding dirt and dust build-up.

Glorious mosue 2 of 2 7

It is no secret that a gaming mouse picks up dead skin, we’ve all seen it and we have all cleaned it (hopefully). The issue is that you are likely to notice this build-up almost instantly, so you may find yourself cleaning your white gaming mouse more regularly than a black or darker-colored mouse.

White Gaming Setup

A great reason to pick up a white gaming mouse is, of course, if you are going for a white gaming setup theme. For us, white peripherals or components always look their best when contrasting with black. White peripherals are definitely an aesthetic-only choice, and you can get everything from a white gaming headset, white gaming keyboard, monitor, to a white gaming chair.

Max DPI 20,000
Weight 2.7oz/74g

Buttons 8
PROS
  • Lightweight
  • Tactile left and right click
  • Convenient charging dock
  • Easy setup
CONS
  • Side buttons are prone to accidental presses

There are a few choice reasons, aside from the charging dock, that make the Razer Viper Ultimate the best of the best. We’ll start with performance as that’s the important aspect of any gaming mouse. The top-quality sensor combined with the 2.7oz/74g weight makes for a fantastic gaming experience, this is further enhanced by the grippy texture along the sides and the very tactile mouse buttons.

100% Virgin PTFE mouse feet are also present here, as they should be on all mice, and they provide a supremely low-friction experience making those all-important flick shots all but effortless. It does commit the cardinal sin of positioning the DPI switch button on the underside, but we give it a pass as the rest of the mouse is excellent.

Additionally, the overall design is great, with ergonomics and convenience as the core concerns. We especially like the ability to place the 2.4GHz wireless SUB dongle in the charging dock itself, meaning that the dongle and charging dock only take up one USB port on your PC. This is especially convenient as the number of available gaming peripherals these days continue to make spare USB ports gold dust.

You can really get a better white gaming mouse than the G Pro X super light. This mouse has all the same brilliant qualities as its predecessor, only now the feet have been improved and a whopping 20 grams has been shaved off, giving you a superlight, accurate bit of kit.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight at first glance is, at the very least, as good as its predecessor. The only way this has gotten worse is potentially for the left-handed gamers out there, with Logitech removing the side-button feature, making this ambidextrous mouse more suited now for right-handers.

Unlike its predecessor, this no longer looks modest and basic, the white coating enhances the aesthetics ten-fold and the two-tone mouse wheel is a thing of beauty. We also see “Superlight” displayed on the side, making this mouse one of the best looking currently available today. The shape is still very much unchanged, which is no surprise seeing how successful and comfortable it is.

At its core, this white gaming mouse houses one o the most efficient sensors on the market – the HERO. This optical sensor is well renowned for being highly accurate and reliable and is one of the more popular choices for esports players. Logitech has shaved off around 20 grams from the predecessor, giving this white version its “Superlight” name. this is a great bit of work from Logitech, giving fans of this shape a bit more of a competitive edge. Another upgrade here is the PTFE feet, something I can’t really tell the difference between this and the older one but as expected this offers a smooth, resistance-free glide across my mouse pad.

Overall, the carbon construction is solid and offers no creeks or flex at all. The mouse wheel is still as satisfying as before only now it looks incredible with the touch of white. As a right-handed player, I have to say, this is superb for gaming.

PROS
  • Stylish with quality construction
  • Accurate and reliable sensor
  • Comfortable ambidextrous shape
CONS
  • Some smaller hands may find this too bulky

G-Wolves aren’t everyone’s first port of call when it comes to gaming mice but the brand offers some fantastic features for the price with their mice. The Hati Ultra Lightweight model is one of the more basic-looking mice in this round-up yet still oozes plenty of aesthetic appeal.

The shell is a soft ambidextrous one that certainly won’t be ruffling any feathers. While the mouse is a little bulky, this will feel comfortable for anyone who loves ambidextrous mice. Bad news for the left-handers though, the side buttons are optimized for a right-hand but that is something you’re probably used to. This mouse comes with the common honeycomb design, helping keep the weight down at 61 grams. The white shell is slightly duller than other models but that is down to the matte finish.

Inside, we see the Pixart 3360 optical sensor, an older variant but still as accurate as any other sensor available. Flickshots and tracking were made easy with this sensor and the low-weight design, making this ideal for anyone who plays competitively. The switches are rated for 20 million and felt very responsive. Aside from that, we see new PTFE skates on the bottom, from a silky-smooth glide no matter the surface. There is also a paracord for the cable, making cable drag almost non-existent.

All-in-all, we have a great gaming mouse here regardless if you get it in white or red. You will also get four mouse grips and two TTC dustproof switches, giving you a lot of features for your money.

Buttons 6
PROS
  • Ergonomic, lightweight, and comfortable
  • Flexible, lightweight cable
  • Accurate
  • PTFE feet
CONS
  • Doesn't offer the same value as some of the others in this round-up

The Glorious Model D gaming mouse is somewhat of a lightweight champion. This is an excellent mouse in its own right, with a comfortable ergonomic shape, high-quality build, and a solid sensor for gaming.

This mouse, first and foremost, was designed to be as light as possible. It features the homey-comb design, keeping the weight down to just 69 grams. The ergo-shape is yet another that I really like, with it fitting perfectly in my medium-sized hand while using a palm or claw grip style. The mouse features two RGB strips on the sides and also around the scroll-wheel, which is quite vibrant and definitely adds to the overall aesthetics well.

The specifications on the Model D are as good as any other, with this featuring the flawless PWM 3360. Accuracy is no problem for this mouse and more importantly, it remains accurate throughout gaming, again making yet another pick ideal for the competitive player. On the bottom,  the PTFE G-skates offer some of the best frictionless gliding you can get, making this a joy to push around the mouse pad.

If the stylish and lightweight design doesn’t tickle your fancy, the solid performance this offers should persuade you.

The Best Budget White Gaming Mouse
Cooler Master MM711
Cooler Master MM711
Sensor Pixart 3389
DPI 16,000
Weight 60
Size (H x W x D) mm 116 x 62 x 38
Buttons 6
PROS
  • Very affordable
  • Highly accurate sensor
  • One of the lightest mouse in this round-up
  • Excellent cable
CONS
  • Could be too small for palm grip players

The Cooler Master MM711 comes equipped with a top optical sensor in the PWM 3389. This is the same sensor we saw with the Deathadder Elite and Endgame XM1. The MM711 gaming mouse has been designed to be ultra-lightweight, with a perforated shell and incredibly flexible cable.

Design-wise, Cooler Master has nailed it. Now, this is barebones but comes with RGB illumination unlike the lighter MM710 and it looks absolutely stunning. The sensor is a top optical so it remained accurate throughout testing and made the whole mouse feel like one of the best. The DPI goes as far as 16,000 and can go as low as 200 through the software. The 400 IPS on the MM711 made this flawless even when tracking targets at pace.

The cable that features on the MM711 reminds us of high-quality paracord style cables, this is lightweight and there is almost zero drag. Overall, a great gaming mouse.
