Choosing between siding with Ularu or Imogene can change the outcome of your questline when joining the Ryujin Industries faction. There’s a mole that’s been hiding amongst everyone, and you get to find out who the real one is. Head to Neon On Volii Alpha in the Volii System to start this quest.
There are plenty of choices to make during the Ryujin industries questlines, from whether to buy Infinity LTD to going forward with Project Dominion. Different outcomes can change your game, so what’s the best option?

Starfield – Should you choose Ularu or Imogene?
Who you decide to side with is up to personal preference. Who you side with will change who has a larger role in the rest of the Ryujin Industries questline, and when you reach the end can affect who has more sway when it comes to the final decisions you’ll help make for the company.
The other effect is that Imogene will lose her life if you don’t side with her. You can later turn your back on Ularu if you decide to side with her, but this won’t bring Imogene back to life. Her fate is left up to you.
Make sure to complete all of the optional objectives during this mission like going to Frankie’s Grab & Go and speaking with Benjamin Bayu in the Astral Lounge and Yuko. This way you can get all of the information.
How to side with Ularu in Starfield
At the end of the Guilty Parties quest, you’ll find out that Ularu has been the mole this entire time when the game has been presenting Imogene as the mole. If you decide to side with Ularu, speak to her before going to Dalton Fiennes.
You’ll present her with evidence that she’s the traitor in her office at Ryujin Towers. You can use persuasion for this, and she’ll confess. But, she says she’s doing this for Ryujin, and that Masako doesn’t have the leadership required for the company. Ularu hopes to be CEO.
The first two dialogue options will have you side with Ularu. This will lead to Imogene’s demise, and Ularu’s presence in the company will remain with the other employees.
How to side with Imogene in Starfield
Find Imogene Salzo, and Imogene will present you with all the evidence that’s she innocent on a slate, and that Ularu set her up. Instead of talking to Ularu, head straight to Dalton to present the evidence that Ularu is the real mole.
Ularu’s vote will not count during the final executive mission in the Ryujin Industries questline, but Imogene will remain alive.
Either way, at the end of the Ryujin quests, you’ll still get the same rewards, including:
- Your own room in the executive offices
- Access to the mission board
