Whilst we don’t expect to see much in the way of laptops this time round, there are a couple of smartphones we think are likely to make an appearance, specifically the next generation of flippable / new foldable phones – as the event has been tag-lined ‘Join the flip side’ we’d be hugely surprised if we didn’t see the Galaxy Z Flip 5 at least. Additionally the latest generation of Samsung tablets are expected to make an appearance and possibly the new Galaxy Watch – as of yet these remain unconfirmed, but the odds are favourable,

When is the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2023 event?

We’ve already had one Unpacked event this year in February, which was the launch event for the latest gen of the Galaxy S series of phones, including the S23 Ultra and it’s innovative main camera tech. Typically Samsung run two of these a year and they’ve just confirmed that the second event will be taking place on the 26th July, 2023. It therefore won’t be too long until we get a look at a multitude of new Samsung devices!

The event will be taking place in Seoul in Samsung’s home country of South Korea, specifically the Gangnam District (where ‘the style’ comes from).

What do we expect to see at Galaxy Unpacked July 2023?

Although the prestigious Samsung electronics company has yet to confirm whether any of the below devices will be making an appearance at the upcoming event in July, based on historical release patterns and the latest rumors and leaks, it’s strongly suspected that they will all be being unveiled during the conference.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

With these latest Samsung devices in the foldable category, we hope to see the same breakthrough innovation that the company brought with their high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra. Supposedly these latest models will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor/chipset, and be thinner and lighter than their predecessors. Hopefully we’ll also see other improvements, such as to battery life duration.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series

These upcoming Android tablets are thought to include the three existing variants thus far (standard, Plus, and Ultra versions) as well as the less-likely FE budget variant, though we’ll have to wait and see. It’s thought that the basic design will remain similar, but include an upgraded camera.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6

Rumors on the next Galaxy Watch were originally sparse compared to the new foldable phones and Galaxy Tabs, however more have come out recently, suggesting a Galaxy Watch 6 with an improved processor, increased RAM, larger battery and/or curved glass display. We may even see the much awaited blood glucose monitoring feature introduced (though there’s no evidence this will be the case). Despite this we’ve upgraded this from ‘want to see’ to ‘expect to see’ status, given that the now live Samsung reserve page includes any ‘upcoming Galaxy watches’. Samsung Galaxy Buds 3

The original Galaxy Buds were released in March 2019, with the Galaxy Buds 2 hitting the shelves in August 2021, so given it’s been another two years since the last release, it’s not out of the question that the Galaxy Buds 3 will show up at the next Unpacked Event. On the other hand, there hasn’t really been much in the way of leaks or rumors of this compared to the other devices on this page, so they remain one of the less likely products that we’ll see.

Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied whether or not they will be releasing a new phone in 2024, however they have unveiled a new fold and flip smartphone every year for the past four years, usually in Q3 of the year, so we strongly suspect that this year will be no different and we’ll receive one of each.
