How to get the Golden Snitch chest in Hogwarts Legacy

The Golden Snitch chest is well hidden behind immovable and unclimbable objects. The only indicator of the chest’s location is the whizzing of the snitch and the dialogue of the player and the portraits around you.

To get here first, you’ll have to unlock the Room of Requirements first.

How to unlock the Room of Requirement

While playing through the story, you’ll get to the quest called “Room of Requirement”, which is the seventeenth main quest in the game.

Midway through the quest, once you and Professor Weasley split up, you’ll be able to explore the Room of Requirement.

While exploring the Room of Requirements, you’ll find the Golden Snitch fly past you, which will evoke an exclamatory dialogue from your character. Just follow this lustrous ball to a hidden area where it will come to rest on top of a chest.

How to unlock the Golden Snitch chest

The chest is in a small area that is closed off by wooden beams and other useless junk. You can see the chest and the snitch through the gaps, but try as you might, there is no way to enter the area.

The only way to unlock the chest is to bring it towards you, and once it’s close enough, you can unlock it. It’s a good thing that there are boxes lying around, and the chest itself is lying on a moveable box. We can cast spells through the gaps to move the boxes around.

• The key to solving this puzzle is to cast Levioso on a wooden box outside the area and climb on top of it to get a clearer view of the chest and what’s around it. There are two moveable boxes in the area, one of which is occupied by the chest. 
• Simply move around both of the boxes inside using Accio and Repulso until you can pull the box with the chest to the edge of the area. Once it’s near enough, you’ll get the key prompt to open it.

What is in the Golden Snitch chest?

The chest contains an extraordinary gear item that the player can equip for their character. While many players would still prefer to catch the snitch instead of the Loosened Crimson Lock Scarf that’s in the chest, it’s still a really good gear item, and can boost your offensive stats. Extraordinary gear such as this can also be upgraded via traits.

Can I keep the Golden Snitch in Hogwarts Legacy?

As you find out at the beginning of the game, Quidditch is off limits during this particular year at Hogwarts. But of course, you can still come across the Golden Snitch during your adventures in Hogwarts. Like we’ve explained, it will guide you towards a hidden chest.

Unfortunately, even though the Golden Snitch makes an appearance, players won’t be able to catch it. It would be nice to add this to our collection in Hogwarts Legacy. Maybe in a future DLC we’ll actually be able to get our hands on the Golden Snitch.
