Marnie is an animal lover who is in a secret relationship with Mayor Lewis in Stardew Valley. She is supposed to be at her store register but you will not find her most of the time, which can be frustrating. But despite her absence from work, her gentle nature makes her one of the best characters in the game. If you want to be friends with Marnie in Stardew Valley, here’s a quick guide to help you get closer to her.
Increasing Friendship with Marnie in Stardew Valley
Marnie is one of the best people to have around when you are starting out in Stardew Valley. If you get on her good side, you will receive recipes and free hay regularly. You will also be able to sneak into her bedroom and get Lewis’ shorts for some hilarious interactions among the characters.
Like any other NPC, the best way to become friends with Marnie in Stardew Valley is by giving her gifts. Of course, not all gifts are equal and you have to give her things she appreciates. Some of the things she loves include:
- Universal Loves: Prismatic Shard, Pearl, Magic Rock Candy, Golden Pumpkin, Rabbit’s Foot
- Diamonds
- Cooked meals: Pink Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Farmer’s Lunch
These items will give you 80 friendship points each. Some of the things Marnie likes include:
- Eggs
- Milk
- Quartz
- Flowers (except Poppy)
- Fruit Tree Fruits
- Artisan Goods
- Gemstones
These items will get you 40 friendship points each and some of them are accessible even to newer players. You should also consider getting Marnie a movie ticket whenever the theater is up and running in the village.
She loves The Miracle at Coldstar Ranch which plays during Winter during odd-numbered years. A ticket to the movie will fetch you 200 points. Other movies will get you 100 points each and she has no disliked movies, so feel free to choose anything you want.
