A short history of the Galaxy S Pen
Samsung used to launch a Galaxy Note device every year since its launch in 2011. With the Note series, Samsung started the trend of big smartphones bundled with the S Pen. The Note series had a separate fans-base, but in 2021, the Korean giant abruptly decided not to launch a Galaxy Note 21. It was the end of the famed Note series.
Many fans were disappointed with the loss of the Galaxy Note series devices. The company suddenly took it off the market without even officially revealing the reason. Most people think it was due to the exploding fiasco with the Galaxy Note 7 in 2017, but the company did release a Galaxy Note 8 the following year. The likely reason is a significant drop in the sales numbers. The Galaxy Note phones were packed with state-of-the-art hardware; however, the sales numbers steadily declined.
But Samsung had a surprise planned for its Note series fans which came out in 2022 in the form of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 Ultra was essentially the Note series device, but Samsung has shuffled it and put it together with the Galaxy S series with the moniker Ultra. It was a massive hit as soon as it was launched.
Although Samsung is not returning to the Galaxy Note series anytime soon, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has big display and, yes, an S Pen.
