Battlefield 2042 initial release date was October 22nd, 2021, and it looks as though the date is still cemented with no delays talked about thus far. We have already had a closed playtest where invited players could jump in to test out some of the new weapons, modes, and maps and there could be an open beta dropping on the 22nd of September too.
The official release date of the 22nd October, 2021 is still the date to save in your diary. The initial release will be for all advertised platforms, so no exclusives or anything like that to worry about.
If you are starting to get annoyed hat how many weeks you need to wait for the initial release, then stop, the beta isn’t too far away. We are getting an open beta for BF 2042 as soon as the 22nd of September, with those who pre ordered getting slightly earlier access.
You can currently pre order Battlefield 2042 on Steam, Origin, Epic Games Store as well as multiple retailers including Amazon (Worldwide), Best Buy (US), Walmart (US), GameStop (US), Game (UK), Smyths Toys (UK) and many others. The game will be available in three editions:
