Will we see the original Red Dead Redemption remastered? And if so, what will be the Red Dead Redemption Remastered release date?
Following confirmation of the soon-to-be-released GTA Trilogy Remastered, fans of the series, including those PC gamers who never got to play the original Red Dead Redemption, are enthusiastically waiting to hear of news for a remake of the seminal Western game.
Read below for the latest info on the Red Dead Redemption remaster as it currently stands.
The current status of the Red Dead Redemption remaster is unconfirmed but likely.
Kotaku (the origin of much of the information on the GTA Trilogy Remastered which has come to light, and whose sources have proved to be accurate in many past leaks when it comes to Rockstar) report that their sources in Rockstar have said the company is definitely looking to remaster the original Red Dead Redemption game, but are waiting to see how well the GTA Trilogy Remastered sells first.
Given that the public enthusiasm for the GTA Trilogy Remastered seems very high, our money is that the trilogy will sell well indeed, in which case things look good for Red Dead Redemption remastered.
Secondly, there is the huge popularity of Red Dead Redemption 2, which would suggest that a good number of people would be interested in a remaster of the original game.
Finally, there is the fact that (much to the irritation of many at the time) the original Red Dead Redemption was never released on PC – a remaster of the original Red Dead Redemption would be the first opportunity of many PC gamers to play the original (if you exclude Red Dead Revolver) title.
Based on the above it is a fair assumption that Rockstar will not have put many resources into Red Dead Redemption Remastered if they have even begun the development of the remaster at all.
Although there is no confirmed date for Red Dead Redemption Remastered, we can safely assume that we will not see the game appear in 2022. Our money is that Red Dead Redemption Remastered will be released sometime in 2023 – though as to when is anybody’s guess at this stage.
